The
fun, eager, expressive and nutty side of my brain finds all the wonder hidden
in every project. Here, I can never forget what a user will feel every time
he or she steps up to the project. The creative execution of any project is
critical to its success. While budget and time constraints define how a project
will be managed, it is the creative elements that will be the only tangible
result of all the hard work. I give the creative side of the project a life
of its own. That life gives way to exploring the many ways the project can make
its point and finally identifying the best one. This philosophy was critical
in enabling Screenzone to become and remain the most successful project ever
deployed by North Communications.
Being
a creative manager requires a different dance than an exclusively creative or
exclusively operational manager. It requires a keen understanding of each discipline
through the life of a project.
The
linear, logical bean-counter side of my brain keeps the facts in order. This
enables me to communicate to the team precisely what tools we will have
at our disposal and what our mission is. It is also this brain that keeps projects
on target and keeps on the lookout for anything that might be a threat to a
project's successful completion. It is because of this brain that I have gained
a reputation for sharp management of projects and am respected for my judgement
in critical situations.
